Our reading story next week is Ruby In Her Own Time and part of the phonics skill is compound words. To help my kids understand this concept, I made Ruby Helpers. I'm going to display these on the white board while we talk about compound words.

These are adorable! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I just visited your blog and I love it! When you find a way to get your students blogging, please let me know! I have always wanted to try this, but haven't found a way for first graders to. I like how you set up a page of each group of students...I may do something like that. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a neat idea! Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable! Would you mind sharing the pattern? Thanks so much! : )

Cindy, I'd love to share the pattern, but I just made them with my Cricut. I tried to take an actual pic of Ruby from the story and type the words on that so I could share the pattern, but I never could figure out how to do it. I'm sorry! Thanks for the sweet compliment!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love these! When I saw them I was wondering if you made them on your cricut. What cartridge did you use?
ReplyDeleteHi Danielle I used the Create a Critter cartridge, which is my favorite! It has so many cute little animals you can make. I also made the frogs on the Concept Question board with the same cartridge. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! I am going to make something like it and post on my site. Us SF users have to stick together! Great job!
