Phonics Packs

I've had several emails asking about my phonics pack, so I thought I'd do a post showing what all is included and the ones that are available. I make these each week and upload them. So far I have all the short vowels and all the long vowels covered. I've also got a pack for /sh/ and /th/ and y as a vowel. I just finished laminating and cutting out the long /e/ ones, so I thought I'd use those as examples so y'all can see the different activities included.
Each pack comes with four word work centers: a word sort, word scramble, fill in the blank, and ABC order. The word scramble and fill in the blank come with a word bank for the kids to use, as you can see below. Each center comes with a recording sheet for the kids to use.If you have any specific phonics skills that you would like to be created into a pack like these, feel free to email!
**Sorry for the not so great iphone pics!

New Y Bandit Centers

I've just uploaded new centers for the Y Bandit. I would have included these new centers with the older Bandit Y pack, but I seem to have deleted that unit, so I can't add to it. This new pack includes 4 centers in the same format of all my other vowel packs. Click the pic to check them out. Want to win a free copy? Head over to Facebook to see how!

***Y Bandit Craft coming soon!!!!!!

Five for Friday

I'm linking up with Kacey over at Doodle Bugs to share five random things about my past week. :)

1. This past week I enjoyed catching up on family time. Here's my cousin and I playing her brother's DS (at least I think that's what you call it...I'm officially too old to know what's hip in the world of video games)

2. I'm still in awe of Tiffany D tweeting me back. If you love watching Youtube beauty gurus, then you  know who MakeupbyTiffanyD is. If you don't, you have to check out her Youtube channel here. Yes, I was so excited that I took a screen shot on my iphone.

3. I'm completely inspired reading Ron Clark's The End of Molasses Classes. This book is beyond great! Go read it if you haven't before. So motivational!

4. I tried my first Starbucks peppermint mocha. Loved it!

5. I loved creating our New Year's door, idea completely copied from the fabulous Cara from First Grade Parade. This is one of my favorite crafts. I just love they way they turned out. :)

Hope everyone had a great week! :)

Building words freebie

I posted this freebie several weeks ago on Life in First Grade's facebook page, but I never shared it here for those of you non facebookers. I use this strategy for my strugglers who have trouble blending words . The student will place a letter title above each candle and say the sound. Once all the letters have been placed on the candles, the student will say each sound together and "blow out the candles" by saying the word. It just creates a good visual for those kids who are struggling with blending.
